Symbols Unspoken: Remembering Our Veterans
Memorial Day traditionally heralds the start of summer, marked by backyard barbecues and warm-weather celebrations. But at its core, today is a solemn occasion—a recognized day to honor and remember the sacrifices and the lives that have helped us become a proud country.
With Robert having served in the Navy, and his father in the Air Force, remembering our veterans is something that comes naturally to our family. Historically, this is the time to honor our military fallen and veterans by wearing the red poppy flower. I vividly remember receiving a crisp, paper poppy from a veteran every year on this holiday, wearing it proudly against my lapel.

The Power of Simplicity
When approaching the styling for this tribute, the beautiful colors of the beads needed no dressing up. I opted for a completely minimalist white background—a stark, clean canvas that keeps the feeling discrete and somber.
The design relies entirely on classic simplicity. Using the traditional red, white, and blue colorway with the Trollbeads World Tour Star Spangled Bead as the focal point, the visual glow is undeniable. There is nothing flashy or kitschy here; it is just a bold, timeless palette.
The tactile weight of the cool glass and silver grounds us in the present moment, while the quiet, solitary clink of placing the focal bead onto the bracelet serves as a moment of reflection. Sometimes, design carries words without having to say them. In this minimalist state, the colors speak entirely in symbols. Its simplicity is its power.
Today, we pause, we reflect, and we remember.
